White-blue or yellow-blue with the arms. This county is situated on the northern shore of Lake Constance or Bodensee. Sources: Falko Schmidt, arms from Linder and Olzog 1996.
Stefan Schwoon, 23 Mar 2001
From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website:
The arms were granted on 27 February 1976. The base of the shield symbolises the Bodensee, Germany's largest lake on the border with Switzerland. The wheel is derived from the arms of the Lords von Markdorf and Raderach. At the same time it also symbolizes the present industry in the county.Literature: Linder and Olzog 1996.
