Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red over white horizontal bicolour.
Meaning:
According to Veddeler 2003, p.143 the flag is mentioned in §2(1) of Hauptsatzung der Stadt Herdecke 30 March 1999. The colours are taken from the shield of the coat of arms. The flag never has been approved officially.
