Shield Or a castle Sable with five embattled towers, four of them crowned by domes, issuant from the dexter tower a hornblower Sable.
Meaning:
Wolkenstein was ruled by the Waldenburg kin, first they had been imperial commissionaires, since 1241 vassals of the Margraviate of Meißen. The kin died out in 1749 and the city was acquired by the Electorate of Sachsen. Wolkenstein had been first called a city in 1434, it was walled and had its proper mint. Agriculture, brewery and crafts had been the main business lines. Since the 14th century local hot springs were used as a thermal spa. The arms appeared first on a city seal from 1425. The current pattern is in use since around 1700.
