Shield parted per fess, above Azure three firs Argent ordered per pale, below barry wavy of nine of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The firs are symbolising forest and timber industry, the lower half is a representation of the Flöha River. Older seals displayed an additional frog in a wreath on base. The frog was taken from the family arms of the Counts of Loß, who owned Olbernhau Manor in the 18th century. Olbernhau was elevated to a city in 1902.

It is a vertical tricolour enhanced parted by two bends sinister of red over green over blue. The coat of arms is shifted towards the top upon the line of partition between the red and the green field.
