Shield Argent, a stag passant Gules on top of a triplemount Vert, issuant from base.
Meaning:
The arms are canting, as the first name of the settlement had been Hirschberg (= mountain of the stags). The colours of the flag, white-green-yellow, are not derived from the arms. Possibly white and green are for Saxony to which the city belonged until 1815, and green and yellow for the Fläming region.

The arms were approved on 19 January 1993.
