Shield parted per pale, at dexter Sable, at sinister Argent a sword Sable in pale hilted Or, over all a fess Or.
Meaning:
The Lords of Otting lived in the village since 1245. They had been in service of the Counts of Graisbach and had been also chamberlains of the Bishops of Eichstätt. Later they called themselves Lords of Tagmersheim, after they had acquired that village. Their family arms displayed the current municipal arms without the sword. After the family had become extinct, its arms had been augmented by two swords and were granted to the Counts of Otting-Fünfstetten, who owned large estates and had the local cognisance. The sword is a differentiation of the arms of the counts.
