Wallerfing Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Vert a demi-griffin issuant Argent; beneath Argent two cross staffs Gules in saltire, the bendy one having a simple cross, the sinister bendy one a patriarchal cross, over all a hay fork Sable.
Meaning:
Wallerfing was established in 1972 by a merger of Wallerfing proper,Ramsdorf and Neusling. The cross staff with single cross is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, patron saint of Wallerfing, the staff with patriarchal cross is an attribute of St. Peter, patron saint of Neusling. The fork is taken from the arms of the Lords of Ramsdorf, local rulers of the namesake village and district (Bavarian: Hofmark) between the 13th and 15th century. The griffin is taken from the family arms of the Barons of Goder, who had been later upgraded to counts. They ruled the Ramsdorf district from 1514 until the middle of the 18th century and held also the local cognisance. The green colour is symbolising the rural character.
