Grosselfingen Coat of Arms

Shield quartered of Argent and Sable, the 1st quarter charged with two bars dancetty Gules, the 4th quarter with a dove Azure, sitting on its nest of the same.
Meaning:
The village was acquired together with the Lordship of Haimburg by the Zollern kin in the 14th century as a fiefdom of the Counts of Hohenberg. The quartered shield of the Zollern kin thus is the base of the local arms. The 1st quarter displays a simplified version of the arms of the Lords of Bubenhofen, local rulers from 1428 until 1522. This was also the time of the origin of the "most noble court of the jesters of Grosselfingen" (German: ehrsames Narrengericht zu Grosselfingen), a carnival society. The dove and nest in the 4th quarter play a role in the local carnival as "battling for the summer bird".

The arms were approved on 13 January 1949 by Minister of Interior of Württemberg-Hohenzollern. The banner was approved on 30 June 1982 by the county administration, published in GABl 560/1983.
