Shield Gules parted by a cross patty Argent, superimposed by a bendlet Argent, chief Or charged with a fess wavy Azure.
Meaning:
Bishop Otto I of Bamberg donated the village in 1138 to the Benedictine Prüfening Monastery, which he himself had founded. The cross patty is representing the monastery, the bendlet the bishopric. The connection between monastery and village ended in 1803 due to the secularisation of the monastery. The blue fess wavy is canting for the suffix "bach" (= creek). The golden tincture is referring to Hahnbach Market Town, as Gebenbach belonged to the monastery´s bailiwick of Hahnbach.
