Shield parted per fess, above parted per saltire of Gules and Argent, bneath Or a lower demi watermill wheel Gules.
Meaning:
The millwheel is referring to the great importance of water power for the local economy, which operated the Schienhammer hammermill until 1595, later a flour mill for barley and sorghum and finally a paper mill. The upper half is derived from the arms of the Lords of Paulsdorf, who had great influence and had been local rulers in the current municipality until 1622.
