Sielenbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Argent parted by a cross patty Sable with a fleur-de-lis Or on its centre, beneath Azure a dexter pointing chevron Argent.
Meaning:
The chevron is taken from the arms of the Lords of Stumpf, also known as Stumpfberger kin. Probably they had been vassals of the Wittelbach kin. In 1464 Sielenbach was first mentioned as a district (Bavarian: Hofmark). The possessions of the Stumpfberger kin were acquired by the neighbouring commandery of the Teutonic Order in 1616. The black cross is taken from the arms of the order. The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary and referring to the nearby pilgrimage church dedicated to St. Mary of the Pear Tree. Due to a legend Swedish invaders threw the Catholic symbol into the local swamps, where it had been heavily damaged. A herdsman found the image and placed it into a whole of a pear tree. In 1659 a woman from Meran saw the image in her dreams, found the image and her child was cured. In 1668 the pilgrimage church was sanctified.
