Description: Na základě schválení žádosti zastupitelstva obce je Valašská Bystřice od 25. května 1999 oprávněna užívat obecní symboly, jimiž jsou znak a prapor. Stříbrné trojvrší je převzato ze znaku Žerotínů, zakladatelů obce. Ve znaku obce jsou v modrem štítě položeny sekera širočina a sekera pantok, obě jsou zlaté. Modrý štít symbolizuje říčku Bystřici, která dala obci název.
