Number of inhabitants by 31.12. 2000: 2107. The first written trace dated back to 1228. The village was founded by the Monastery of Velehrad. The original name was Pieshc. About 1617 Bernart Lichnovský from Voštice bought the village from the Manor of Hlučín. In 1909 the village was given a new name: Pyscht. In 1910 the village was renamed again: Sandau. On 14 March 1923 Píšť was incorporated into the newly established republic - Czechoslovakia. In 1938 the village was occupied by the German Army. On 20 April 1945 Píšť was liberated.

I've to correct the text about Píšť - Sandau. The village was never occupied by the German Army! The Hultschiner Country was in Silesia in the Prussia State and in 1938 came into the Reich.
The Hultschiner Country came unter Prussia in 1742. That means, the People lived about 200 hundred years like Prussian.
