Originally founded on 15 January 1631, the town was
transferred to its mocdern location on 30 September 1638. The
historic district (XVI- XVIIth centuries) of the town, covering
64 ha, was proclaimed in 1959 "National Monument" by
(National) Law 163. The two flags are shown on the municipal website.
