"The flag is made of two horizontal stripes, green-white, with the following meaning:
- Green represents the wide forests and mangroves, resources of
the municipality;
- White symbolizes peace."
Mangrove covers one-fourth of the municipal territory, protected
in the San Quianga National Park, created by National Decree No.
