"La BANDERA del Municipio de Santa María, un pendón de
longitud doble de la anchura y cuyos campos y colores se
describen así:
DIMENSIONES: La longitud es de el doble de la anchura.
DESCRIPCION: Un campo rectangular de color amarillo con base en
el asta, ocupa la cuarta parte de la longitud total de la
bandera, en el centro de dicho campo va estampada una tau
minúscula de color negro. El campo restante de color verde, esta
atravesado por faja horizontal de color azul, de una quinta parte
de la anchura total de la bandera.
SIGNIFICADO: Un pueblo que trabaja con honestidad y sacrificio,
asentado sobre la fertilidad de la tierra labrantía, surcada por
la salvaje impulsividad Juvenil del Río Baché, arteria fluvial
que dá al Municipio su nombre Pristimo de Santa María de Baché
como memorial de la familia indígena que habitó la comarca.
