I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a
book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department.
This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of
Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the
Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is the flag of Tausa
(Valle de Ubaté Province).

"Tres franjas horizontales de igual proporción. Los colores
tienen el siguiente orden:
Verde esmeralda, representa la actividad agrícola y ganadera
como tradición del municipio.
Negro, representa la industria minera del carbón.
Rojo, representa el amor de los tausanos por su patria chica y
por su nación."

"Creada por acuerdo 17 del 18 de septiembre de 1989: “Constará
de tres franjas horizontales en seda; cada una de 1.50 metros,
por 33 centímetros , en el siguiente orden:
En la parte superior, la franja de color VERDE ESMERALDA, que
representa las actividades AGRÍCOLAS Y GANADERAS, como
tradicionales del Municipio.
En el centro, la franja de color NEGRO, que representa la
Industria minera del CARBON.
En la parte inferior, la franja de color ROJO, que representa el
AMOR de los TAUSANOS, por su Patria chica y por su Nación.
La Bandera se enarbolará en un asta, en cuyo ápice habrá una
hoja de lanza en color ORO, que representa la gesta
LIBERTADORA."
La bandera deberá ser izada en todas las fiestas del orden,
Nacional, Departamental y municipal, así como en los actos de
trascendencia en la vida del Municipio.
El Acuerdo es recomendación de la academia de Historia de
Cundinamarca, y es provisional."
