I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a
book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department.
This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of
Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the
Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is the flag of
Paratebueno (Medina Province).

"Conformada por tres franjas en colores: rojo, blanco y
verde, esta última ocupa el cincuenta por ciento de su
totalidad.
El color rojo simboliza, la sangre derramada por los patriotas
buscando la libertad.
El color blanco significa, la paz que se vive en todo el
territorio.
El verde, el más extenso, significa la riqueza natural, el llano
que ocupa la mayor parte de su territorio y la esperanza de su
gente."

"Fue adoptada mediante acuerdo N° 003 de noviembre 24 de
1984.
Formada por tres franjas así:
Una de color Rojo, que significa la sangre derramada por nuestros
antepasados desde la conquista hasta nuestros días; el color
Blanco, significa la paz que reina entre sus habitantes, y el
color verde, doble por cierto, la esperanza de desarrollo de este
municipio."
