I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a
book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department.
This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of
Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the
Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is the flag of
Machetá (Almeidas Province).

"Compuesta por cuatro colores y cuatro franjas
respectivamente.
La franja de color blanco, primera en su orden simboliza; paz,
mansedumbre, transparencia, honestidad e inocencia.
La segunda franja de color verde que lo forma una banda delgada,
significa el duro golpe que se le está dando a la naturaleza.
También es esperanza de mejores oportunidades en el mundo.
Tercera franja de color rojo encendido, la chispa vivificante del
fuego como fundamento de vida, alegría y energía sublime.
Franja de color azul prusia, visión cósmica, altos ideales y
los valores humanos de una manera integral."
