I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a
book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department.
This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of
Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the
Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Above is the flag.

"El pabellón del municipio es un rectángulo de tres
franjas horizontales, compuesta por los colores negro, azul,
blanco y verde, distribuidos así:
Azul primera franja, su color significa la riqueza hídrica de
sus campos.
Blanco segunda franja, representa la paz reinante en nuestro
municipio.
Verde tercera franja, los campos y su producción agrícola.
En el costado izquierdo un triángulo de color negro, que tiene
como base éste lado y su vértice centrado a un tercio de la
dimensión horizontal y significa la riqueza minera representada
en el carbón que allí se explota."
