I have just received from the Government of Cundinamarca a
book that deals with on the shields and flags of this department.
This book is called "Shields, Flags and Hymns of
Cundinamarca", written by Rosalba Salazar Gallo for the
Secretariat of Culture of Cundinamarca. Here is the flag of La
Vega (Gualivá Province).

"Pabellón rectangular, modelo espanol formado por tres
franjas horizontales de igual anchura, la primera y la última en
color roja y la del centro en blanco, con un triángulo lateral
de color verde.
El triángulo de color verde, es la vida de los árboles que al
beso de una tierna llovizna se maduran, es también la esperanza
y la piel de las frutas en la edad temprana.
El color rojo de la primera y tercera franja, está representado
el amor... la llama eterna que el dolor purifica, la lucha por la
libertad y por encontrar la justicia.
Color blanco en su segunda franja: simboliza la paz, la dulce
calma que el mundo atormentado anhela. La pureza del alma de la
joven doncella y el sonar con princesas al despertar el
alba."
