In August, 2004, I've seen other version of this flag (see Flag in Use), with the colors white, black and
green, without the stars. Officially, Cucunubá hoists the design
above.

"Está formada por tres franjas de igual tamano de color
azul, negro y verde los que significan lo siguiente:
Azul Celeste: es la expresión simbólica de sus lagunas.
Negro: testimonio de las riquezas del subsuelo, especialmente el
carbón, igualmente el esfuerzo perenne de todos sus moradores
hacia la superación, allí encontramos dieciocho estrellas de
color blanco, que denotan las veredas del municipio.
Verde: sintetiza la fertilidad de sus tierras."
