Flag of Chocontá (Almeidas Province).
Jairo Alonso Méndez Méndez, 28 July 2004
From <www.cundinamarca.gov.co>:
"Consta de dos franjas unidas de igual área, en sentido
horizontal, de color blanco la primera y verde oscuro la segunda.
Blanco: significa el sentido pacífico de su gente y la
motivación para vivir siempre en armonía.
Verde oscuro: significa la esperanza y un futuro mejor. Releva
este color el verde de los campos.
En el centro, está inserto el escudo de armas del
municipio."

Translated from <www.cundinamarca.gov.co>:
"An external and an internal golden circle with white
between, in the upper part says in black letters "Leal y
Noble Villa" and in the bottom "De Santiago de
Chocontá".
In the center of the circles, in dark green field, a golden lace
in circle shape and in the interior a golden cross, meaning the
Catholic feith, on the lower vertical stroke a crimsom crown
bordered golden meaning the Catholic King.
After the cross and the crown, bellow, the letters N and R and a
pomegranate representing the Fatherland and the New Kingdom of
Granada. Two fags held by respective black hoists based on the
pomegranate. One flag blue with a crimsom cross, and
one flag white with a sea blue cross, meaning quiety and
peace. The hoists gorm a V inside a cross, the cron
and the letters.
A brown wolf with the right hand embrasing the hoist of the blue
flag, and a sword with silver blade and black handle, with the
point upwards intercepts the lowe part of the white flag's
hoist."
In short. one flag means quiety and the other
peace. And according to the description the white
cross should actually be crimsom.
