The flag, adopted on 16 February 2001 following a public
contest, is made of three equal horizontal stripes with the
following colours:
- Yellow, symbolizing our resources, the essence of our land, the
strong power of our ethny, always lit by proper light;
- Green, universally associated with the natural environment,
represents life and the lake ecosystem surrounded by its rivers
and wet areas that represents the advance of industrialization
proper to all times;
- Red represents excellence, strength, human energy and
continuous movement, transforming force generating change in
peoples' mental structure.
