Translated from municipal
website: "The flag is of rectangular shape, with the
following elements: on a green field symbolizing the territory of
the valley of Patía, two blue lateral fesses emerging from the
left corners of the flags and converging to the middle of the
fly, recalling that the valley of Patía is watered by rivers
Patía and Guachicono."
The river, valley and town of Patía are named after the Patía
Indians, who were exterminated during the colonial period.
