I must stress that this source is a poor indicator of the
actual proportions of the municipal flags. Some flags are just
annexed to the Coat of Arms in a square proportion. Two of these
flags were presented previously in a 2:1 proportion. Many
of these flags could be such. I think it will be wise to
place a note that indicates that the true proportions of these
flags could be 2:1 also.

"La bandera del municipio de Neira está partida en tres
fajas: una verde en sentido vertical, que es la parte enastada y
que equivale a una tercera parte del ancho total. Las otras dos
terceras partes del ancho total van divididas en dos fajas
horizontalmente iguales, quedando la blanca en la parte superior
y la roja en la parte inferior.
La faja esmeraldina, representa la esperanza del pueblo y el
verdor de las montañas y plantíos.
La blanca significa la pureza de sentimientos y las virtudes
cívicas que acompañan al neirano.
La roja, el amor por el terruño neirano."
