The Municipality of Necoclí was the first strip of land where
the Spaniards settled in South America. For more on the history
of the first settlement of Spaniards see the Necoclí
official website.
Necoclí rellied mainly on the Municipality of Turbo until Necoclí itself was
established on March 28, 1977.
