"Introducción - El Acuerdo municipal 071 del 10 de octubre
de 1999 oficializó los símbolos, insignias y emblemas que los
carmelitanos habían establecido por costumbre; con el se
adoptaron la bandera, el escudo y el himno.
Adoptada en 1961 en las bodas de oro del Colegio Nuestra Señora
del Carmen. Se compone de tres franjas: dos blancas, una arriba y
la otra abajo; en el medio, una de color café de un tamaño
igual a la suma de las otras dos.
Significado de los colores: Color blanco: Pureza, integridad,
obediencia, vigilancia, firmeza, elocuencia, vencimiento,
inocencia, blancura y virginidad. Color café: Fervor de los
carmelitanos a su patrona la Virgen del Carmen, en cuyo honor se
adoptaron los colores. No se debe confundir la Bandera Municipal,
explicada antes, con la Bandera de la Virgen que sólo tiene dos
franjas: blanca arriba y café abajo."
This description means that the flag haves a color composition
1:2:1, White - Brown - White, and the Flag at
Website is wrong, because that flag is very similar to the
Carmelitan Flag (White over Brown).
