Argent a tower embattled Sable masoned of the First.
Christopher Southworth
The tower on the emblem is the Bayard Tower, built in 1257 as part of the defensive walls of the castle. The castle and parts of the walls were destroyed in 1475, the tower survived and still watches prominently on the hill over the city.
