On the flag of Morcote we have a shepherdess sitting on a garb and a sow and her piglets.

From Morcote's website: "The
coat of arms of Morcote, two-tone green and red, like the colors of
hope and courage, has, in the lower green part, a sow with numerous nursing babies, a symbol of abundance
and fertility, which owes its origins to the Antonian friars of Vienne, settled in Morcote in the Middle
Ages and had it as their emblem. In the upper, red part, a shepherdess is represented sitting on a pile of
wheat sheaves in a flowery meadow, a symbol of the municipal freedom conquered by the Morcotesi against
the mayor and the lord of the castle (castellano)." –
"The name Morcote derives from the proto-Latin term mora which indicates a stony area, and
caput which stands for head or end. MORAE CAPUT therefore means the end of the mountain or rock,
the tip of the peninsula."
