Azure issuant from a base Vert a tower and gateway ajoure Argent roofed Gules.

Rothenthurm got its name from roter Turm (red tower) which still exists today
(photo¹, photo²)
and was a part of the fortification wall (Letzi) built in 1310 across the whole valley. The tower is
depicted on the emblem.
