Azure, a Compass Or.
Željko Heimer, 2 June 2000
The compass here is not associated with the name of
Lignières, but to Jean Hory, baron of Lignières in 1625, who received for his
personal arms a golden compass, the compass being a symbol of equity. These arms
were never held either by Jean Hory, or by his family, but 6 years later, these
arms were found engraved and painted on the stairs of the municipality hall.
