The items on the flag of Büttikon are helmets (in German "Eisenhüte").

Eisenhut (plural: Eisenhüte) means literally "iron hat", a medieval infantry helmet. Particularly specific
because its name and shape is used in German heraldry (maybe also vexillology?) to designate vair (one of the heraldic "furs", squirrel fur), Eisenhut-Feh.
Fox-Davies’ "Complete Guide to Heraldry"
says: "On account of its similarity, when drawn, to the old iron hat of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, this skin [i.e. vair] has received the
‘Eisenhütlein’ (little iron hat) from German heraldic students, a name which later gave rise to many incorrect interpretations."
I wonder if originally the "helmets" on the arms of Büttikon were simply vair.
