Sport North was incorporated in 1976 and assists in the development of
amateur sports in the NorthWest Territories. The flag of Sport North
features two figures joined in a single head symbolically representing
the unity of Territorial sports organizations under the Sport North
Federation. The bottom figure is running with lifted arms,
representing speed and strength. The top figure is balancing,
representing co-ordination and agility. These are the four athletic
qualities needed to participate in sport.
