The quartered arms feature agriculture, forest, maple leaves, the saw mill, and yesterday and tomorrow's industries. The shield is crossed by the river and the railway; other elements are a rising sun and a fleur-de-lis planted between forest and industry.
The French motto, "FIÈREMENT ET TOUJOURS MIEUX" reads " Proudly and Ever Better".

Green recalls agriculture and hope. Argent highlights the river. Or is symbol of faith (religion). Black is a symbol of industry. White is a symbol of clarity. Blue presents the sky. Red is a symbol of love (charity). Green-stained brown illustrates forest.

Three of the quarters represent the origins, while the fourth one is turned towards the future.
The first quarter represents the forest that feeds the saw mill.
The second quarter represents love and resources for life; the two cog wheels represent industry, cooperation and commitment to go further, as expressed in the motto.
The third quarter represents agriculture and faith, symbolized by a golden cross.
The fourth quarter features the saw mill at the origin of the village.
The sinuous stripe argent represents river Yamachiche, which powers the saw mill. "In bend to dexter flank", [maybe the dotted horizontal line in the center of the shield] the railway is connected to the saw mill.
The proud blossoming of maple leaves recalls the maple groves and the emblem of Canada. The six leaves stand for six "arrondissements" [whatever it may mean, since only eight municipalities in Quebec have such "arrondissements", Charette being not among them].
The fleur-de-lis is a symbol of purity and the emblem of Quebec.
In chief, the fire and sun king, a source of light, warmth and life, enlightens the four quarters.
