The former Town of Port Dover was a separate municipality until 1974 when it
was amalgamated into the City of Nanticoke, Ontario. However, in 2001 the City
of Nanticoke was dissolved and the area that once was Town of Port Dover is now
part of Norfolk County, Ontario.
