Description of the flag

The flag was adopted sometime between January and February 2020, based on the city council meetings. It depicts a logo over a white field, which was approved on 12 November 2020; being designed by Wake Marketing & Design from Kenora with some input from the community. The logo on the flag does not read the motto underneath its name, DRYDEN.

Description of the logo according to the council: "The city of the North. The arrow marks the direction. The compass ring symbolizes the region and our place in its centre. The wilderness and trees surround us. The typeface demonstrates strength and acceleration. The negative space beneath the arrow indicates a trail. The way forward."

The flag of the City of Dryden, Ontario, has a modern design consisting of diverse fields of four colors - green, white, blue, light blue, in different shapes and "Dryden" across the flag, where "D" is white and the rest of the letters are light blue. Photo of the flag thanks to Lynn Arseneault, Deputy Returning Officer.

About the city:
"Dryden (2006 population 8,195) is the second-largest city in the Kenora District of northwestern Ontario, Canada, located on Wabigoon Lake. It is the smallest community in the province of Ontario designated as a city." - from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dryden,_Ontario

The first flag of Dryden depicted a red field with presumably the old town logo placed upon it. It is a white circle with a ribbon also in white cutting across it, reading "TOWN OF DRYDEN". The circle depicts symbols of the town, from left to right: three trees for the forest environment; a fish emerging from water for fishing, especially in the lakes around the city; and a factory with smoke emerging from it, especially regarding the paper mill that exists in the town. Clearly, the flag was adopted sometime before 1998, as it became a city that year. Image source from https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/nV4AAeSw-xBoh7EV/s-l1600.webp.
