According to Luc Mercier, Municipal Administrator for Woodlands County:
"The flag represents the numerous creeks and rivers within our
municipality and does not specifically refer to any given one.
The flag was officially adopted in 1994 when the region became a
Municipal District and was designed with the input of administration
and council of the day."
