The Village of Warburg, Alberta (population: 560) is located about 83
km SW of Edmonton in the County of Leduc. The agricultural and
oilfield service sectors of the local economy are represented on the
flag by a bushel of wheat and oil pumping equipment. Also on the
municipal flag are two flowers, the Alberta Wildrose. In the center of
the municipal flag is a white colored crest with the name of the town
in the same dark shade of green as the remaining background of the
flag.

Phil Nelson, 15 March 2008Warburg was originally named Varburg after the Swedish birthplace of a long-time resident Albin Benson, now deceased. The name was later changed to accommodate English pronunciation.
