The Town of Ponoka (approximate population: 6,300) is located in Central Alberta and 104 km
south of Edmonton. Featured predominately on this flag is an image of
an elk. The word "Ponoka" means elk in the Blackfoot aboriginal
language. Also on the flag are the words "enterprise, progress and
integrity" which comprise the town's motto.
