The town of Oyen, Alberta (population: 1,099 ) is located at the intersection of two highways in southeast Alberta near the provincial boundary with Saskatchewan.
The municipal flag of Oyen features the head of a Pronghorn Antelope.
This animal is native to this area of Alberta. There is also the
symbolic representation of an intersection of two roads (Highway 41
and Highway 9) which form a cross in the center of the flag. This is
also the name of the town in bold lettering. This flag was officially
adopted by Town Council on January 20, 1976.
