The Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) is the nation's second university. BIUST was established in 2006 and was envisaged to be one of the key drivers in the transformation of Botswana's economy from being resource-based to being knowledge-based. The university campus is located in Palapye. The university currently has two faculties (Sciences and Engineering and Technology) and the Centre for Business Management, Entrepreneurship and General Education.
