Associação Brasil Soka Gakai Internacional (BSGI) was established in October
1960 as the Brazilian branch of Soka Gakai. Originally composed of 200 members,
mostly Japanese immigrants, BSGI claims now 200,000 members. The organization
maintains 9 cultural centers and 57 regional seats.
