WEG S.A. (Sociedade Anônima) (English: Inc.) is a Brazilian company established on September 16, 1961 as Eletromotores Jaraguá do Sul. Later on it changed its name to WEG, derived from the initials of its founders: Werner Ricardo Voigt, Eggon João de la Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus. It operates worldwide in the electric engineering, power and automation technology areas. It produces electric motors, generators, transformers, drives and coatings.
