image by Daniel Rentería, 18 February 2024Jose Ballivian, often called just Ballivian, is one of 8 provinces of the
Department of Beni. The province has 4 municipalities: Reyes (the provincial
capital), Rurrenabaque, San Borja and Santa Rosa. It has 40 444 km2, with about
82 000 inhabitants.

In more recent years, it appears Ballivián has adopted a logo-based flag.
Clearly, the four stars are a reference to the province's municipalities. Its
capital is at Reyes, which translates to "kings" in English, and as such it is
possible the crown on the flag references this. The earliest usage of the flag
from what I could find is 2020, though this is mostly because I am unable to
find more images from years before.

The provincial flag consists of four horizontal stripes of red, yellow, blue,
green. It can be seen on the provincial Facebook page Subgobernacion Provincia
Ballivian.
A version is also shown
with a map of the province superimposed on the stripes.
