image by Daniel Rentería, 19 February 2024The flag of Guayaramerín was adopted by Municipal Ordinance N°25/1995. In
1995, a contest was sponsored by the municipality to create a flag for
Guayaramerín. The winning design, adopted as the municipality's flag, was
adopted on July 18, 1995 and first hoisted on September 22, 1995, recognized as
the municipality's anniversary because it is the date Puerto Sucre was renamed
Guayaramerín. The designers are Henry Avaroma and Rocio Rosi de Avaroma.
The flag is composed of three horizontal stripes of green, white, and brick
color. Green and brown take 1/4 of the flag's height, while white takes 2/4.
Though not mentioned here, the colors are locally described as follows: green
for the immense Amazon, white for purity and nobility, and brick color for the
roads of the red-colored land.

Commonly, people do not make the flags as specified and instead create the
flag with each color taking 1/3 of the flag's height.
