Beit Al Qur'an (Arabic: بيت القرآن, meaning: the House of Qur'an) is a
multi-purpose complex dedicated to the Islamic arts and is located in Manama.
It was the work and inspiration of Dr. Abdul Latif Jassim Kanoo, an engineer
by profession and a former senior government officer and Shura Council
member, whose personal collection of very rare and beautiful Quranic
manuscripts was the basis for the museum's entire collection. Through his
efforts, he was able to raise money from donations and together with the
government's support, this idea came to life.
Opened to the public on
March 12, 1990, the complex is most famous for its Islamic museum, which has
been acknowledged as being one of the most renowned Islamic museums in the
world.
Beit Al Qur'an is dedicated to the service of the Holy Qur'an and
to the better and wider understanding of Islam as a religion and a
civilization."

One version located at
https://www.google.com/maps features the Arabic inscription below and the logo is not
encircled but rather surrounded on the top and bottom by two semicircular
lines, all in green. It is important to notice that both versions fly together, so they
are closely related and may as well represent two different things (perhaps
one is for the museum itself the one that does not feature the inscription,
and the other is for the organization that runs it, namely "The Friends of
Beit Al Qur'an Society").
