With a business seat at Schoten near Antwerp, Steja is a freighting agency active in Western Europe and the Balkans. It was founded in 1996 by Mr and Mrs De Wilde-De Clercq, as a result of growing trade with their own inland vessel. Important bulk transports are wood products, containers, coal, fodder and special loads. Several new barges are under contract, ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 metric tonnes, most of them double-hulled.

The house flag of Steja, as seen on the Vlootschouw website, is blue with yellow triangles put next to the hoist and fly edges, creating a parallelogram; on this surface
are placed three yellow triangles, next to each other and points upwards,
bearing black letters respectively S, T, and I. Below the triangles is a
yellow picture of an inland vessel, bow towards the hoist.
The flag was confirmed by a sighting in Antwerp harbour docks in December 2006; the yellow shade on the flag is bright and not pale as on the above image.
