SALF, based at Antwerp, was founded by CMB in 1947 to assure inland transportation to the Rhineland after a bid to take over Rhénus failed. The enterprise did not live up to expectations due to heavy competition by Dutch firms. Year of closure is still unknown (nineteen sixties?).
Jan Mertens, 8 November 2009Flaggen auf dem Rhein (1952) [d9e52] shows the flag of SALF as a yellow pennant with a broad red border (except along the hoist) and "SALF" in black letters in the middle.
