Municipal flag of Zwevegem

The municipal flag of Zwevegem is quartered, 1. and 4. A blue field with golden billets and a yellow lion, with red tongue and claws, 2. and 3. Horizontally divided red-white-red.
According to Gemeentewapens in België - Vlaanderen en Brussel, the flag was adopted by the Municipal Council on 22 January 1990, confirmed by the Executive of Flanders on 17 April 1990 and published in the Belgian official gazette on 8 December 1990.
The flag is a banner of the municipal arms.

Azure billetty or a lion of the same armed and langued gules, 2. and 3. Gules a fess argent. [...]").
The description of the flag is similar, replacing the heraldic words by the usual ones for the colours.
The arms of Zwevegem were designed after the arms of the Counts of Nassau-Corroy (combining the lion of Nassau and the fesses of Vianden), last lords of Zwevegem, as shown on the municipal seal used in 1790.
